Der Name stammt von Moorish - maurisch. Der Tanz hat vor allem am May Day - 1. Mai und an Whitsuntide - Pfingsten Bedeutung. Die Morris dancers sind meist Gruppen weiß gekleideter Männer, einige von ihnen tragen Glöckchen um ihre Waden und jeder hält entweder einen Stock, ein Taschentuch oder einen Kranz in der Hand. Der Tanz ist sehr schwungvoll, es wird viel gestampft, gehüpft und gesprungen. -
